Meet Hay Bag Boy

Hayboy

I must have nothing to do while I wait for the snow to melt. Not true. I should be vacuuming and washing laundry. I should be planning and pricing out the Pig fencing! I should be expanding horse fencing too. OK I'm going I'm going!

"Dance With Me"

Spanish dancers and dancing Stallions. What an idea! At first I thought it was rather silly. But by the time the little girl came out and joined the dance I was starting to get hooked.

Pony Hay Sculpture

P1070032

Lucy's artwork.

P1070033

Bonnies is a free form style as she doesn't have a hay bag for her bale. But she doesn't poop or pee in her shed ever so it seems to be working. I am planning on having a bag for the next bale however--just so much neater.

I had my plans changed last weekend by an unexpected day spent with Dan. That hasn't happened since before the big shop move in August, so it was much enjoyed. I will get to the "wintering in Maine" interviews within this coming week!

Jeannie & Good Luck Charm

2fc1 I e-mailed J & DM to tell them that House Peepers #7 are coming for a viewing (Horse persons even, I have this huge smile on my face that will not go away) anyway, JM sent back this photo of what she has declared my Good Luck Charm.

2fc3 It has this Ring for Service button which she calls the Wish button. She has pressed it for me and wished for a house sale to a horse person--this horse person! I think this could be better than a rub of the lamp.

This remarkable sculpture must reside somewhere in or near Arizona where the traveling nurse has settled in for a year or two of employment and continued education . . .

Spirit Weaving

Spirit_necklace3 Pattie Mix Buffalo Woman weaves lovely Spirit Necklaces.

Spirit_necklace These are all made from horse hair.

Spirit_necklace2 You can send her Hair from your own horses tail or mane or forelock and she will weave one of these from it. She likes to know details about the animal who's hair she is working with as she weaves. as if she would call the spirit of the animal to guide her design? It fascinates me. I so wish I had kept a lock of Kashmir's Tail or Ranger's forelock. I would love to have spirit necklaces woven from their hair. A woman at work lost her long time friend and companion when the old timer slipped on the ice and broke her leg Wednesday. It breaks my heart.

And then I thought of Tex. The Stallion at Vienna Farm who has watched over his heard there as long as there has been a Vienna Farm. He is old now , but not that old--less than 30 still and healthy. I want to steal a lock or two of his hair and make a Spirit necklace or Spirit Basket to hang in memory,  someday way way down the road when his physical body leaves us, to show us that his spirit still watches over the heard.

I'm going to practice with Bellina and Willie and the nameless one ( who has an official name now if I didn't mention it "Kelat Gaels' K or Kay-lee for short) to see how they come out. I wish I could scamper of to the west coast and learn the trade from Pattie. I understand she teaches weaving over there.
