The Little Standish Farm is For Sale Again

Littlefarm06_2 Our Old House is for sale again. I makes me sort of sad because I so hoped that the nice young couple would be there for a very long time.

It's a great place to have horses and the trails are nice. Route 35 has gotten rather busy though.

SOLD!

We sign tonight. We turn over keys (if we had any--I've never locked my doors so I don't remember ever having any) on the 12th of September. Poor Dan, I asked him why he didn't sound excited. He said, "are you kidding? do you know how much work I have to do by then?" But Dan is the most amazing super man, he can do anything. Anyway, it doesn't get cold till November. What's the panic? I have Cabin details and pictures coming soon--IDEXX work is way cutting into blogging time with no PC still at home. OH may Goodness, I have to start putting up fencing right away!!!!!!!!!! Commence PANIC NOW

I think this is it!

We are getting our first offer today! I am so excited! First time home buyers who have horses in their plans. It doesn't get any better than this! They are the couple I would have hand picked. Our home will be someones first owned "Love Shack" --Maybe there will be a baby born there, and it will have horses. I will feel that I am leaving it in good hands. Details ASAP

The Selling Price . . .

. . . or the price my little farm will sell at:   $ 227,000.00  Two showing booked already! This is a 32,000.00 drop. I think this should work.

Dropping the price once again

The announcement will be out on Thursday. We are meeting with the broker tomorrow night. Prices all around the area have dropped a lot in the last 40 days. It could be significant this time. If this one doesn't work we may start interviewing for renters for the winter.

More updates on other categories coming this weekend--cabin move included.

Jeannie & Good Luck Charm

2fc1 I e-mailed J & DM to tell them that House Peepers #7 are coming for a viewing (Horse persons even, I have this huge smile on my face that will not go away) anyway, JM sent back this photo of what she has declared my Good Luck Charm.

2fc3 It has this Ring for Service button which she calls the Wish button. She has pressed it for me and wished for a house sale to a horse person--this horse person! I think this could be better than a rub of the lamp.

This remarkable sculpture must reside somewhere in or near Arizona where the traveling nurse has settled in for a year or two of employment and continued education . . .

Bad Phone Number!

The Horsemans Yankee Pedlar ad came out this week. It looks great. There was one error that didn't get fixed: The heating system is reported wrong. It is forced hot water! Oh well. The worst thing is that I missed getting the phone number changed. The correct Number is 207-838-6960. Hopefully anyone who tries the wrong one will just go this web site and find the right one.

Yuccy Cold

I came down with it Saturday. Though I refused to admit it till Sunday. It seems to be breaking up today but I am still so weak and achy. Sunday was the second open house. The one we were going to have the trim all painted for and the garage door color changed and the plantings in out front for. But it never stopped raining. So it never got done. The finished daylight basement is still dry though! Dan's amazing ditch did the trick! A couple from the other side of the Lake (Sebago Lake) came and viewed the little farm. They like it a lot. They are still thinking about it. And a couple from Cape Cod are coming up at the end of the month to check it out. Keep hoping with us! I have things to share when I am feeling better . . . soon

Couple of pictures without snow

01april06the_last_big_stump_018_1 This was taken 01-April-2006, from the deck on the back (East) side of the house. The paddock on the south (right in the photo) extends beyond the arena about 125 feet to the property line. The arena is 65 x 155. I have utilized every square inch of our 2.8 acres. It's a nice even rectangle 200 x ~500 feet and appears larger than other lots I've seen of the same size. Lots of great trails. I look forward to showing them to the new owners, in hopes that they will love them as much as I have.

05may06housekflower_014 Also 05-May-2006

Bonnie_dove_19july05_001 This is the south side of the house taken July 2005. The back yard-North East and South- is fenced off for grazing and to contain the dogs. Dan calls it Jurassic Park because on summer evenings sitting out under the birch trees the horses as they wander into the light of the oil lamp next to his reclining lawn chair to see what he has for goodies, look as big as dinosaurs. The fence line follows the property line. That's a neighbors garage at the right behind Dove's tail. You may have to click on the photo and enlarge it to see that detail.

Dsc004631 This is the back yard taken a few years ago. The wooden monkey bars are still there. The fence in the back ground has been upgraded (now same as previous photo) and I now have my jumps set up in the new arena instead of on the grass. The other neighbors garage (north side) is in the background. The Realtor said they aren't allowed to comment on the character of the neighborhood in ads. But this is a blog--The neighbors are wonderful. 20 years and nothing but excellence. That was the one thing that worried me when looking to move. But it looks like we have been blessed once again in Hollis with excellence in neighbors.
