Tamara of In the Night Farm

Woohoo! I'm so glad you had a good session with Lucy (and that my post was useful). Last spring, I was doing similar pre-mounting work with Aaruba. He had a few rides on him, but his training had been rushed by his prior owner, and he was extremely tense and prone to bolt when mounted. Slow and steady remediation, like you're doing with Lucy, over the course of 2-3 weeks resulted in a rock solid, confident horse when I get on. So, keep it up -- Lucy will get there too. :-)

Oh Leigh, I've had the very same feelings! I was wondering what was wrong, is having the horses worth all the money, etc. I have played with everyone but River, but haven't gotten to ride yet (flu, all us girls!). Thank you for posting this and I'm so glad things are going so well with you and Lucy. I need to come down and use the red lights on YOU!

I'm glad that you got back to "work." There's nothing like a little hands on with the horses to put life into perspective.
